Our website seeks to explain, through testimonials and case studies, why customers should choose Picaw. For them, the Picaw advantage lies in the range of services we offer, the way we integrate those services, our multi-skilled engineers, our comprehensive support packages and the quality of our work.
"New customers will find they get the
same Picaw advantage too!"
The Picaw website also links to our weekly blog (right here!) where all our news is published. This blog includes information for customers, opinion pieces and items we think will be of interest to our readers and has proven quite popular.
The focus of our new website is clearly on the services that we offer to our customers:
Oggle remote video (CCTV)
Intruder and perimeter alarms
Fire detection and alarms
Maintenance, service and support
From the main website, customers can access their own area, via secure login, to see their Oggle remote video system online.
Oggle remote video is our proprietary CCTV system that provides advanced functionality and is especially suitable for complex sites or for customers with multiple locations. Via an online interactive map, customers can see live or recorded video from all their cameras.
We have one client with more than 3,000 cameras on 400 sites nationwide. The system makes low bandwidth demands on the customer's network, while any number of users can see unlimited cameras if they have the right permissions.
We are recruiting a small number of Picaw Partners, who will be able to offer their customers added value by benefitting from Picaw's services. As this network develops, Partners will get their own dedicated support area on the website too.
We intend to use it to provide news, information and ideas of value to our customers and potential customers. Tell us what you want to know about and we'll see if we can find a place for it on our website, as it grows and develops.
"Do tell us what you think of
our new website!"
You can take at our new website by clicking through to http://www.picaw.com and you can either call us on 0845 287 3622 or click here to send your thoughts by email. We'd love to hear from you.
Until next time ...
While working with Volvo in the late 70’s I realised the way forward in international component distribution was computing. I created a company distributing components for several international manufacturers using the 'new' computers of the day. I quickly realised we needed our own programs so started writing distribution software. I grew the company by developing the software until I eventually sold my shares 20 years later, but retaining the rights to the software. I continued developing the software and supplied it to several similar companies where the software is still used today.
During 1999, I was asked by a friend to develop a facility to video the live sea conditions on the south coast accessible on the internet. Working with a Linux software developer I created our first remote video application. The internet boom of 2000 allowed me to develop a commercial application forming the basis of our systems today.
